Sometimes called snowplow shoes, snow plow skids, or even skid shoes, these metal contraptions are a highly underrated plow accessory. When they're correctly installed and adjusted, snowplow shoes raise the plow's cutting edge. This prevents your plow from bulldozing gravel, loose flagstones, dirt, and grass.
On relatively flat surfaces, put shoes on your plow, and adjust them so the plow's blade is between a half-inch or so above the ground. This will prevent you from digging into gravel in most cases.
They are super durable with strong construction and black powder-coated. They are also anti-rust, which provides a super long service time. You can use them for years without having to replace them.
UTVs for snow plowing, context matters. If you've got just a small walkway or driveway to keep clear, a narrow ATV outfitted with a small plow may do just fine. For bigger driveways, access roads, and other larger areas, a UTV capable of handling a heavier, wider plow is often the better route.
