There are reasons for getting RGB light whips besides the fact that they're insanely cool. They help you visually broadcast your location to other UTV drivers from dusk to dawn and bring your side-by-side into alignment with various off-road safety rules and regulations.
In general, a well designed light bar mounted higher up on a vehicle is preferable. Lights mounted lower down and close to the road surface, with a comparatively tall up/down light distribution, risk throwing too much light on the road directly in front of the vehicle where it is not needed.
Front bumper. The front bumper is a good place for most UTVs, especially for convenience. Also, mounting your LED light bar on the front bumper ensures no obstruction blocking the light from illuminating your path.
For distance alone, LED driving lights are the clear winner here but if you're looking for something with a boader spread or light, LED whip lights might be the better option for your vehicle.
