Merge onto I-84 South, continue about 1 mile to Exit 6A
Merge onto US-20E, continue about 2 miles
Turn left (north) onto MA-49, continue about 3 miles
Turn right (south-east) onto Putnam Road, continue 1 mile
Park entrance is on the right (south).
This off-road park only open during select weekends, and all types of vehicles are welcomed. Camping is permitted during select dates.
2.Beartown State Forest
Location: Benedict Pond Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230
Dates Open: May through last Sunday in November
Fees: Free for entry and riding
Take I-90 West to Exit 10
Continue about .5 miles, veer left at fork near end of off ramp
Turn left (south) onto Housatonic Street, continue .3 miles
Veer right onto Pleasant Street/SR-102, continue 2.6 miles
Turn left (south) onto Meadow Street, cross the river then immediately veer right onto Pine Street, continue .4 miles
Turn left onto Beartown Mountain Road, continue 3.2 miles (Beartown Mountain Road will fork at 2.2 miles, stay to the right)
Staging area is on the right (west).
This forest track is about 12000 acres with a elevation of 1650 to 2000ft. Most of the terrain are rocks and steep hills. It allows ranges and gunfire during hunting season.
3.BRO MX
Location: 1190 S State Street, North Adams, MA 01247
Dates Open: Tues and Thurs 12pm-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm
Fees: Weekends - $40/rider, Tuesday and Thursday - $30/rider
Take SR-8 South about 2.5 miles
Turn left (east) onto State Street, continue .25 miles
Track entrance is on the left.
ATVs and UTV are permitted in certain times during scheduled race weekends. Camping and campfire are prohibited.
4.October Mountain State Forest
Location: 256 Woodland Road, Lee, MA 01238
Dates Open: May through last Sunday of November
Fees: Free
Take US-7 North about 5 miles
Turn right on Walker Street, continue 1.7 miles
Turn right on Walker Street, continue 1.7 miles
Staging area will be on the right.
This track is about 16500 acres and most of the terrain are rocks and has some steep hills and water crossing. Most expert rider come here for challenging.
5.Pittsfield State Forest
Location: Shamrock Blvd, Pittsfield, MA 01201
Dates Open: May through the last Sunday in November
Fees: $5(entry)
Head west on West Street about 2 miles
Turn right (north) on Churchill Street, continue 1.7 miles
Turn left (west) on Cascade Street, continue .7 miles
Turn right (north) on Shamrock Blvd, continue about .5 miles
Ranger station is on the left (west).
Note: The above directions are to the ranger station to obtain the daily riding permit. To access the ATV trails you must stage at either Balance Rock or Potter Mountain Road Staging Area.
Leave ranger station by heading south on Shamrock Blvd about 1 mile
Turn left (east) on Cascade Street, continue .5 miles
Turn left (north) on Churchill Street, continue 2.1 miles
Turn left (west) on Potter Mountain Road, continue .4 miles
Turn right (east) on Potter Mountain Road, continue .4 miles
Look for gate and sign for Balance Rock State Park on the left (west), turn here.
Continue about .5 miles toward staging area.
The large trail forest has around 9600 acres and it’s forest climate. It’s beginner-friendly and the Massachusetts registration sticker is required.
